I don’t normally eat from fast food joints, but just completed an evening class and was famished. I decided to stop to Kentucky on Coral Road for a piece of chicken and a biscuit, after placing my order, I realized that I needed something to wash it down with, so ordered an ice tea also. I simply expected the order taker to give me the total and I would be on my way to the cashier’s window, but nooo!!! The order taker exceeded my expectation by offering a value meal (I never knew this existed) which was about $1.00 cheaper than ordering everything individually. When I drove up to the window to pay, the total was $3.20. I scrambled through my wallet to find 20cents. Latario, the cashier said that he would pay the 20 cents, wow! I had to ask the team, “Did you all recently come from another BahamasHost Seminar? The whole team was friendly, courteous and empathetic. I praised the team and encouraged them to continue doing the great job of raising the bar in service. We often highlight the poor service given; I am committed to showcasing the positive experiences throughout Grand Bahama, as it relates to service.

I was cheerfully greeted by my cashier who appeared to be eager to assist. Sadly I was expecting a downward spiral effect from her attitude as I quietly surrendered my crisp fifty (50) dollar bill to her. Then she smiled at me and sweetly said “every one’s bringing in fifties this morning.” I felt somewhat relieved. I quickly smiled and said “the economy must be coming back!” She then proceeded only to politely announce that she had no change available. I had nothing else. So she decided to use some of the change she brought as “back-up” funds (this seemed to be a regular habit, making it a personal responsibility to have change for her customers).
Not only was I pleased with my pleasant, efficient, cashier but I was happy with my meal. I really wanted to call her manager, but here comes the sad part: I misplaced my receipt. I can’t wait to find out who she was. I would really like to see more employees like her everywhere! Agree?

Ever wondered what happened to the Martin’s that sold mouth watering Fried Fish and Grilled Conch in the shack on Goombay Park? They are now downtown on East Atlantic Drive, opposite the F.N.M Headquarters. The Grill Masters have recently opened and serving: Grill Conch, Grilled Chicken, Pork, Ribs and more. You name it, they’ll Grill It.
Here is a sample of some grill chicken that I had today.
